MHS Announcements - Wednesday, March 27, 2024 



*Please congratulate the MHS Forensics State Team!  Every single member of the Forensics state team qualified to advance to state when they competed at Districts on Saturday.   State competition will be held in April. 

 

*Congratulations to the boys track and field team for their performances at the Northern Badger Large School Invite on Friday at UW Stout.  The boys placed 7th of 25 teams.  Fifth place finishers were Nolan Bien in the 55m high hurdles and Evan Olson in the 3200m run.  Grant Burns finished 4th in the mile run and Jae Berg was 3rd in the high jump.  Great job boys team.


*The Multicultural Club is meeting today during study hall. All are welcome. We will meet in the auditorium. Please see the wonderful student leaders if you have any questions. 


*Hello FFA members!  We are having a meeting in the Ag room at this time.  Please come join us.  Agenda includes award applications and upcoming events including the CDE contests.  


*Educators Rising will be meeting in Mrs. Delong's room during studyhall TODAY. We will be talking about future projects. See you all there! 


*Senior Student Athletes please listen.  If you have committed to attend a college or university to play college athletics, please email Activities Director, Mrs. Guyant-Holloway with your sport and school you will be attending next year. There will be a signing day celebration on Wednesday, April 17th. More information will come later. 


*Winter sport athletes please check your emails and complete the Winter Athlete Feedback Survey asap. 


*A Representative from the University of River Falls will be in Student Services on Monday, April 1, during 3rd hour study hall.  If you would like to visit with the UW-River Falls representative, please stop by Student Services.


*Juniors, if you have not already created a MyACT account online and want to be able to send your scores to up to 4 colleges for FREE, please see Ms Belko in Student Services by Thursday to get one set up. 


*Students looking for community service hours, a couple volunteers are needed to help with yard work (raking, clearing garden beds, etc) after the snow is gone for an elderly woman in Menomonie.  If interested in helping out, please see Mr. Davis in room 230 for more information.


*Students who applied for Early College Credit OR Start College Now for the FALL SEMESTER: There will be a follow up meeting with Mrs. Ruchti and Mrs. Hundt to review the decision information and to collect your paperwork next Monday, April 1st during Study Hall in the Tiered Lecture Hall. This is an important meeting and you are expected to attend this meeting so you know what you are approved for and what your next steps are if you want to take a college course in the Fall!

*Varsity Softball has their season opener at VSA in Lake Hallie against Baldwin Woodville

*This week is World Autism Awareness Week. There's an increased recognition and diagnosis of Autism today. While some individuals with Autism may excel in certain areas, such as rote memorization or specific subjects of interest, Autism is a spectrum disorder, meaning it affects each person differently. Always make sure to include those with Autism.   Next Tuesday on April 2, 2024, make sure to wear the color blue to support those with Autism.
