Concert Chorus

Concert Chorus consists of auditioned Sophomores through Seniors who have displayed a high level of dedication, initiative and leadership and possess a positive attitude and solid understanding of the use of voice as a musical instrument. These class includes the study of advanced vocal techniques and exercises, review of basic music theory and terminology, advanced sight-singing, study of pop music vocal production and literature, study of the human voice, vocal health and the history of choral music through various styles of vocal literature. Each semester Concert Chorus stdy and rehearse music to be performed at specified concert and contest times. This is the featured touring ensemble for the MHS Vocal program. The ensemble tours each spring to various locations nationally and internationally. Concert Chorus performs at several evening concerts each semester and occasional other concerts in addition to solo and ensemble festival. Individual Voice Lessons are required of all singers in this ensemble on a rotational basis with the director for assessment purposes.
