Beginning Ceramics

Beginning Ceramics is the study and exploration of clay and its many properties. Assignments will include the use of the pottery wheel and hand-building techniques. Students will create a variety of functional and non-functional pieces. Basic ceramic processing and construction procedures will be explored. Glazing and other methods of surface decoration are considered an important aspect of this course.

Requirement: All students need to purchase their own 8.5" x 11" sketchbook.
