At-Home Learning Information

MHS Families,

The staff at MHS is working very hard to complete 1st quarter grades and prepare for our At-Home Learning model which will begin on Monday (11/16).  The following is the information, resources, and expectations necessary as we transition to the new model.  Please know that our goal in the At-Home Learning model is to be very consistent and structured in our approach during the 2020-2021 school year.  Below you will find the daily schedule and student expectations:

1st Period (Skinny)--8:00 am 8:45 am

(No Study Hall Scheduled--Students may need to use the afternoons to complete some work)

3rd Period--8:50 am - 10:00 am

4th Period--10:05 am - 11:15 am

5th Period--11:20 am - 12:30 pm

Teachers will communicate with students about how the class will be structured and also share the google meet links.  All teachers will also establish office hours throughout the week and communicate that with students.

Student Expectations

  • Attend each class each day virtually through google meets. Your attendance will be recorded in Skyward as normal.

  • Engage in course work and class activities.

  • Students will have work to do outside of the morning scheduled time.

  • If at all possible, please have the video on in the google meet. Students can create a background to use if they choose but it needs to be school appropriate.

  • Utilize google classroom as a place to gain access to materials and resources.

  • Students need to advocate for themselves if they have questions or concerns

Lastly, MHS will be open during our At-Home Learning model for the following reasons only:

1. For students with individualized needs which cannot be accommodated while they are at home. This will be coordinated by the staff at MHS, who will be reaching out to the appropriate families.

2. For students who do not have internet access. We will only be able to accommodate students who legitimately don't have access to the internet. Please fill out the form (1st link) at the bottom of this message if you do not have internet access at home and need to come to MHS. This will help us so that we have an idea of the number of students accessing this opportunity. (Buses will be running as normal and breakfast and lunch will be provided).  We appreciate your cooperation with this.

Have a good evening,
